Brass Knuckle Flashlight Grip

As I am an avid adventurer I spend a lot of time out at night. One of my many hobbies includes building and improving illumination tools. The most popular high quality flashlights today are based on the tried and true 1” standard diameter tube with a rear facing button. This has been the primary layout of flashlights for weapon application and tactical uses for over 30 years. While these lights work great when mounted to a rifle or handgun, once removed the awkward button layout combined with the small diameter makes it difficult to grasp. As a result, I wanted to see how I could better facilitate the human hand to give easy access to the button on the back of the light (especially with long-front heavy lights) as well as give the user a practical self-defensive tool in an emergency. Here is my documentation of the process in CAD models as well as ergonomic hand studies. Resulting in 3-D printed prototypes and eventually a final cast brass product.
