WHITE is the result of a research and experimentation based on three different types of materials used for clothing and accessories, all united by the choice of a single color: white.
The materials that I have chosen for this project are the white neoprene (in two different thicknesses), white leather (some items are made of genuine leather, other details are instead faux leather), and PVC. These three materials differ in their physical features, and this gives a different look to the white shades and hues. The only exception is PVC, which is not white, but his transparency, when approached to the other two fabrics, influences their appearance, creating various light effects.
The decision to combine three materials originates from my own curiosity about them. I decided to focus my attention on clothing and accessories design because I want to develop it more in the future.
This project is a mini-collection which consists of a vest for women, another vest for men, a maxi-pochette and a sling backpack. As long as the focus was on the fabrics, I wanted to keep the shapes of the clothes and accessories to a very simple, geometric and linear level, just to let fabrics stand out, thanks to a kind of two dimensional juxtaposition of elements.
The only non – white elements are the zip closures I chose for the accessories. I wanted to give a bit of contrast so I opted for black zippers.
