Japanese Hansel and Gretel
Story: Re-imagined fairytale of the story, Hansel and Gretel, set during the Edo period (1603 – 1868) in Japan. The candy house is redesigned as a traditional Japanese wagashi sweets house with elements inspired by Edo architecture. The technique, composition and color palette are inspired by ukiyo-e landscape woodblock prints.

Japanese Hansel and Gretel Character Designs
Story: Character designs for each of the main characters in the Japanese Hansel and Gretel. The clothes and hairstyles are inspired by the Edo period. The Witch is inspired by the Japanese folktale of Yamanba, who was a scary old lady living in the mountains.

Pattern for Japanese Hansel and Gretel
Story: A pattern of the three stages of Hansel and Gretel walking in the woods. Stage one is when they are happy, knowing they can follow their trail of pebbles back home. Stage two is when they are lost and hopeless after discovering their rice trail has been eaten by the pesky birds. Stage three is when they walk home rich with Yamanba's treasures they took.
