Singapore’s third university is built ground up to be an institution unlike any other – in Singapore at least.
Funded by the government, but run as a private university, SMU was a courageous attempt to start a new brand of education from a clean slate. Offering a broad-based education that starkly contrasts the British norm for early specialization, it’s city campus is an intentional embodiment of it’s values – debunking the ivory tower mentality of large university campuses.
When we were asked to create collateral for the 2012 Commencement, it was only right for us to fuel that same spirit of adventure. We chose to feature a cross section of ordinary Alumni that defined success in a non-conventional way, calling commencing students to get out and do something great with that which they have been given.
