Oldham

An look into the essence of what seems to be the town of Oldham's, one step forward, two step back strategy, in with the old and out with the new. Structures being half completed and then left to deteriorate along with the town’s heritage and debris. False promises, false hope, a lot of things for sale that no one can afford to buy.

Leeds (central)

Like any City, a variety of society and limitation is firmly corresponded here in Leeds. In relation to my home city of Manchester, I feel Leeds is more compact and everything seems to be in and around the same radius. What I have captured and believe to be a re-occurring theme, here in Leeds is the working class spirit and loyalty to the city’s heritage. Some parts can be seen as dire and un-welcoming, but I think its features, such as, Hyde Park and the indoor market, which really communicate the essence of this friendly and social city.

Jersey

Arriving in Jersey for the first time, how I'd imagined it to look was exactly the outcome. A defining cross between England and France, An island as big as Manchester very much separated, occupying two different communities. One half filled with the retired, enjoying the island life, eating out and shopping and other thriving off and serving this cause. Like Oldham parts of Jersey is noticeably from past generations and instead of the island being gradually built, stages seemed to have been skipped and instead of continuity throughout, scenes of both the old and new can be reconciled. As I got deeper into my explorations, the French side of things came apparent and apart from the fight over road signs, the colour of houses was a dominant feature and resembled that particular area. My overall feeling towards the island were that it is very much a place that belongs in the sun and one on the rise which I imagine to recruit even more leisure able characters.
