Calm, cuddlesome and at one with its landscape around – that might be the associations that occur to us when thinking of the polar bear. But the polar bear is non of that. It is a predator: fast, strong and equipped  with teeth and paws to kill.

The idea to make the vector graphic came to me when I was reviewing my portfolio and found the lion to be a good art work. Studying the lion I found it to be very iconic. I thought it would fit as an coat of arms, but not as one for the Norden.

Which animal stands for the north and is as proud as the lion? A polar bear.

But before I fixed the final composition, I started off by studying some pictures on the internet and drew the ones I liked best.
