The Coptic stitch is a non-adhesive, hand-sewn binding method introduced by the Egyptians during the second century A.D. and comprises of multiple sections sewn together with an exposed spine.
Coptic binding is able to open 360° and does not require any glue in its construction.
I took sandpaper to the edges of the stationary to give it a rougher look.
I used this authentic penmanship paper (a.k.a handwriting practice paper) from my hometown elementary school. I alternated between full page lined sheets and half page story paper which was intended for children to have space to draw a picture and write about it.
I chose thread that matched the end sheets.
