I first began this project by understanding the products that have already been produced. I learned about what portable radios had been designed effectively and which ones had preformed poorly. From this research I addressed all of the components that i would like to include in my portable radio redesign. I eventually disassembled a real portable radio that i would use as reference for the interior components. By understanding the interior circuit board functions, i could apply this knowledge and furture my overall design.
I began drafting iterations of what i believed the radio's form could be from the research on previous products. I wanted the radio to have a minimal asthedic yet preform a multitude of tasks.
