Project Description: Skype owns video calling, but their instant messaging is not very much used. The brief was to redefine the default IM experience, interactively and visually, introducing new features for async communications.

Observation:

Text as a form of communication in very limited and is very hard to express yourself completely, causing a lot of miss understudies.

Solution:

Skype Asterisk is a new function at the normal keyboard, that will add a new level for the IM experience. Adding 4 simple commands to the asterisk button we enriched the communication by getting it more human and facilitating the share of content.

The commands were:

Mood pre-sets: express feelings in a meaningful way
Voice recognition: dictate text to share your mood
Gestures: bring physical senses into the IM experienc
Sare comand: find and share content easily
