Bryn Gorberg's profile

Marist College Silver Needle Fashion Show- Sophomore

My Target Customer is a woman in her mid 20's to mid 30's in the SOHO neighborhood of New York. She is very active on social media personally and professionally; she loves following trends and studies runways closely. My customer appreciates well-constructed clothing and intricate details, but has a reasonable amount of disposable income because she is in a relationship but not married. Some of the brands she buys: Milly, Rebecca Minkoff, and Rebecca Taylor. My collection is inspired by scanned electrograph images of cells for color, print and surface design. For silhouette, I was influenced by geometric patternmaking, the skirt pattern shown above, through which the minimal number of seams create irregular shapes that mimic those of the cells.
Certain details are repetitive throughout my collection such as the print, embroidery detail, and the minimal number of seams and the volume created from it. Even though this collection is for Spring/Summer, black is a key color with accents of bright blue and green.
