I chose to recreate the cover of "The Grapes of Wrath" for the book cover assignment. I recently read it for the first time and I found it very moving. I grew up in the Central Valley of California and I knew about the migration of many people from the Midwest to California during the height of the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl, but in a way that was just factual. This book really gave me a new understanding about those events and even a peek into the history of some of the people I grew up around.
Color Palette: This palette is intended to invoke the idea of dirt in all its forms. Mud, Sedona Dirt, Southwest Dirt, and Sand are the names I gave to the colors here.
