Storyboard for my graphic novel
Opening scene of scene 1.
The scene opens with an island which is covered in fog in the middle of the night.
The sounds that would be used for this scene would be- waves crashing by the rocks that are on the edge of the island. Sound of the thunder crashing
Visual effects- would be the fog surrounding the island and the waves crashing by the island. Thunder storming.
A young street fighter lays on the nearby rocks and sand.
The second part of scene 1 is where Gohan wakes up and finds himself on an abandoned island in the middle of nowhere.
His body is covered in bruises and he is badly injured.
His clothes are covered in dirt and sand.
Visual effects- for this there would be showing the dirt on Gohan’s clothing.
Sound effect- there would be the sound where Gohan would be grunting as he is trying to get up with his injured body.
The third part for scene 1 would be where Gohan’s head starts to feel heavy and starts to hurt. And starts to have visions appearing that were linked to his father’s disappearance.
The visuals- would be when Gohan starts to feel dizzy) his body tired and injured), and the camera angles for this part would starts to shake so it enhances the storyline to make it more interesting.
The sounds- would be when the character would start to make painful agony sounds.
The forth part for this scene would be Gohan starts to see the visions unfold, when his father (Kakarot) was training in his home valley, practicing and trying to improve his martial arts skills.
The visuals- would be the valley on an island surrounded by the ocean.
The sounds- would be Kakarot punching and launching his energy attacks.
The fifth scene would be when the bushes suddenly start rustling and Kakarot is quickly alerted that someone is nearby watching them.
The visuals- would be focused on the trees and bushes when they are rustling, also the visual would be focused on Kakarot when he sense something is nearby.
The sounds- would be the sounds of the trees and bushes rustling.
The sixth scene would be when the mysterious fighter jumps out of the bushes and landing behind Kakarot and challenges him to a battle to the end.
The visuals- would be when the shadowy figure (mysterious fighter) jumps out of the trees/bushes. And when he lands behind Kakarot.
The sounds- would be when the mysterious fighter jumps out of the trees and lands with a thump sound on the grounds.
The seventh scene would be when the mysterious fighter and Kakarot get into a fighting stance pose ready to fight. With Kakarot with a sweat drop (showing that he is unsure whether or not he can win this fight).
The visuals would be 2 fighters looking at each other with the wind blowing across.
The sounds- would be the wind blowing.
The eight scene would be when Kakarot launches an energy beam attack and the mysterious fighter dodges it with ease. (Mysterious fighter has a grin on his face) ready to launch his own attack.
The sounds- would be the punches and the sounds from when the Kamehameha wave is being powered up ready to be unleashed at the mysterious fighter (Kakarot).
The visuals- would be when the camera focuses on Kakarot and on his hands and the mysterious fighter when he dodges the energy beam attack.
The ninth scene would be when the mysterious fighter doges the attack and he launches one sending a powerful blow to Kakarot’s chest.
The visuals- would be when the energy beam misses and the mysterious fighter sends one beam back to Kakarot,
The sounds- would be when Kakarot takes the hit and bends over in front towards his chest and shouts in a pain of agony.
The tenth scene would be when Kakarot falls towards the ocean where the mysterious fighter kicks him and laughs and flies away leaving Kakarot to drown.
The visuals- would be when Kakarot falls into the ocean and starts to drown with the scene fading out and going back to (where Gohan is on the island). Also when the waves crash/ when Kakarot falls into the ocean making water splash a few ft up into the air.
The sounds- would be Kakarot yelling in pain, the waves crashing and splashing by.
The eleventh scene would be when Gohan comes back to reality and realizes that his father was killed in his last final battle that was unknown to everyone else. And begins to drop some tears from his eyes.
The visuals- would be when the camera quickly sharpens from Kakarot falling in to the depths of the ocean and Gohan quickly comes back to reality realizing what he had just saw.
The sounds- would be the quick heart passed breaths when Gohan is breathing heavily.
The twelfth scene would be when Gohan gets up and hears some bushes rustling and a ninja warrior jumps out ready to fight our young street fighter.
The visuals – would be Gohan quickly changing his position from a wounded body pose to a fighting pose, (with his hair changing to a golden color with blue lighting static electric surrounding him/ eyes also turn into a emerald color with a golden energy wave surrounding him. Also the trees and bushes as they are rustling and the fighting pose when the scene ends and fades out into pitch black.
The sounds- would be when Gohan is powering himself up from his normal state to his fighting from. (Yelling anger sound). And also the sound of when the ninja draws out his sword.
This is the rough storyboard that I will be looking at, to see if it will work well with my final graphic novel, an if not I will consider changing the narrative structure in terms of the text when the characters are speaking as well as the narrator telling the story for my graphic novel.
