These are a series of drypoint etching and monotype prints of the human figure. The process included first making a number of gesture drawings from a model, choosing the ones that had a sense of fluidity and form and then etching the reverse image into plexiglass. From there I created a print of the line drawing, then reprinted the shaded portion on top of the original print. I enjoyed the process of turning a one minute gesture drawing into a painstaking and tedious process. The end result was a print that resembled the fluidity of the original pencil drawing but took on a more graphic and yet painterly quality.
