Through a select grouping of sculptural works, drawings, prints, video and audio, the participatory Confiserie installation, “Mile High, Red Hot” will explore themes of desire, consumption, the ephemeral, and the individual vs. collective memory. “We aspire to immerse the audience in a multisensory experience that will spread the seeds of curiosity, longing and wonderment." said White.

 

The Confiserie at the center of “Mile High, Red Hot” will guide the discourse within the larger context of the entire body of work. It will be comprised of numerous apothecary jars and tiers of glass canisters brimming with candies of all types from around the world, across many decades and traditions. Audiences are encouraged to literally eat their way through the exhibition.

We are interested in how viewers will engage with the body of work as well as with each other within the installation,” notes Sinclair. “This exhibit will serve both simple and yet rich ideas and experiences, encompassing the social, visual and evocative nature of the work.
