A personal response to the theme of Materiality by looking at what is Immaterial and how can I give it shape or form. I chose to work with magnets and iron filings to create letters and shapes. An example of what is immaterial run under the lines of Love, Feelings, Emotion, Ideas, Thoughts, Words/Fonts/Letters. They have no body or form to it but when something is applied to it such as materials, we see it in its physical form. Like the magnetic field around magnets, there is nothing but when you put iron filings to it, it displays a beautiful pattern of the magnetic field.
