Strait Talk | 兩岸尋新

Founded at Brown University in 2005, Strait Talk is a youth-run organization that fosters peaceful progress and constructive dialogue on the Taiwan Strait issue through educating, connecting, and empowering young leaders from both sides of the Taiwan Strait and the United States. Existing logo marks
The existing calligraphy-based mark is visually complex, and is used without a graphical guideline for localization. The end result is a lack unity and coherence, where the chapter marks bear no visual connection to one another.
The refresh retains the use of Chinese character as the mark's starting point. However, instead of rendering the organization’s full name, the word ‘to seek’ in the name is selected as the driving character; the action-oriented word evokes the objective of the organization: to seek connection and construct dialog.
Retiring the illustrative, calligraphic approach, which can be interpreted as antiquity and referring the past, The proposed mark is drawn with precise geometry and proportion, offering a solid foundation for a systematic variation across all chapters. The graphic system is kept minimal for easy application by students,
