My Bachelor Thesis is dealing with the phenomenon of typical Bavarian costumes. It includes a lot of research and mapping information. Dirndl and Lederhosen are more popular than ever and I took a close look at the origins and the modern influences.
What I detected I transformed into this map.The front is completely illustrated by hand and recolored on the computer. It shows connections and works in a humorous way. On the other side you can find more information by reading the description of every district and you can link it by looking at the pictures. The pictures are ordered in a way that you can compare them, but you also see that the borders are almost vanishing.
In addition I made silkprints of the illustration which can be seen as something seperately. The map enables the viewer to get information in a playful way, but it also motivates the viewer to think ahead and to see things in a new light.
