As part of my ongoing research into watch design, I decided to use the lathe – the watchmaker's primary tool – to create a limited run production of watch-inspired bolo ties. After creating a CAD file for reference, I made the bolo ties on the lathe and milling machine completely by hand. The ties are made from rotocast bronze, 6061 aluminum, brass and stainless steel. They feature a spinning brass rotor and genuine leather bolo cord.
