Pin art is made by winding thread around pins to create lines that make up an image.
I used pin art to create a portrait of feminist icon Dorothy Hodgkins, it was then photographed with light on one side of it, creating shadows on one side.
I photoshopped the two images above, changing the contrast and inverting one of them, which changed the colour of the pins.
This is a double exposure.
To make these I drew shapes within the pins to create the main shapes of the portrait, then took away the original image.
