Misa came about from an idea of a warrior princess, a woman who doesn't need a knight in shining armor, but who can wear the armor herself. Inspired by the tenacity, femininity and poise of a powerful woman, MISA was created born.

Layers of a Whale 2014
This installation was created by an introduction to a culture that I knew nothing about; the New England Whaling Culture. While learning about the history of whaling and the extensive research on the men and this sport, I was inspired by the marketing and commercial aspect of whaling. From the Scrimshaw made from the bones of whales, and the oil, blubber and skin that were so prized in beauty and fashion, this installation was an abstraction of those prized goods.
