Worked with a team of three other Biomedical Engineers at Georgia Tech to redesign the classic Finochietto Thoracic Retractor. This new design addresses the issues of excessive and uneven force that the older FInochietto retractor inflicted on patients.
Rendering was done in Solidworks.
Acutal prototype used polyethylene sheets which attached to the hooks on the red blades of the retractor. Polyethylene sheets would be disposed after each operation.
