The World Traveller

Essence
Travel into books
where the pages come alive
at Notre Dame.
Travelling abroad
you see iconic landmarks.
Hear the sounds, ooh ahh!

Oh look, it's leaning!
I thought it was just a tale.
My eyes see the truth!
Look how majestic
the Coliseum towers
over everyone.
Quick, before you leave
turn around and make a wish.
A wish to return!
Movement
The plane is waiting
as I drive to the airport.
The journey starts here!
I hear the engines!
I can see the plane moving
toward the runway.
We just go, go go.
However, somtimes we stop
and can't go forward.
Other times we can't
figure out which way is best,
but we trust our guide.
Now onwards to more
far off places!  I wonder
what awaits me next!
Perspective
Always have a plan
because no matter how sure
you are things go wrong.
I've seen it from a
distance, but never close up.
It seems much larger.
I've seen it close up
but never this far away.
I feel like a cloud.
I've never looked down
on a place from so high up.
Around, round we go!
Back down on the ground
I stand out like a tourist.
Oh well, I don't care.
Mood
The hardest part of
travelling is saying bye
to your family.
On my travels I
also saw other good-byes
on Normandy Beach.
Travelling with friends
is the best.  We all explore
new things as a group.
Travellign does take
its toll.  You learn to get rest
wherever you go.
When the journey ends
you're welcomed with open arms.
Oh how I miss her!
