The inspiration board has pictures from the seamstresses of 1850's and once the Industrial Revolution brought the sewing machines how people began to use it. And how people perceived it. Sewing machines brought about a sewing revolution.
Journey Of The Design Solution
Initial Concept
As the final solution began to take shape, alot of ideas for a new sewing machine came. All the ideas or concepts have been put into orthographic drawings.
Final Chosen Concept
The orthographic drawings basically depict a eye- level view and elevated view from different sides. These drawings helped to find the form for my sewing machine.
Detailing Of The Final Chosen Concept
The machine has been redesigned with the features of an LCD screen, LED lights, built-in stitches and optical sensor to reduce or rather vanish the discomforts that were caused while using the sewing machines.
Concept Note
The purpose of the study is to research on electronical sewing machine and gage the discomfort faced while using the pedal and suggesting solution using sensors to improve the overall experience. The idea of building a sewing machine was an astounding invention. The pedal was made to make sewing easier rather than using a manual machine which was tedious. But we live in the 21st century, why not make stitching more easier and hi-tech.
The entire idea for this research is to make a solution fit enough to make sewing easy and comfortable to it's user.
Final Solution
The final solution was made using grey board, compressed thermocol, ivory sheet and thermocol. It is a model for how the sewing machine is going to look or perform.
Validation Of Final Solution
After talking to a fashion design faculty member, the validation of this design of sewing machine would depend upon the price range in which it is included. If the machine is sold at an affordable or cheap rate, the chances of people willing to purchase it and experiment with it is more. While, if it is expensive, the customers may not want to invest in something which requires a new method. Thus the validation of this machine would depend on the price range.
