I was a fan of He-man and the Masters of the Universe when I was small, and one of my favorite things about the figures was that hey came with a small mini-comic that presented an adventure for the characters. On reflection, it is these mini-comics (and the wonderful packaging and promo art created by Earl Norem, William George, George Tuska, Alfredo Alcala and others) that first fueled my love of illustration.

The Masters of the Universe are now represented by a new line of action figures geared towards adult collectables called Masters of the Universe Classics. These illustrations are excerpts from a mini-comic I created as a personal project to act as an homage to the pieces I loved as a child. It's presented in the way the first four "mini-comics" in the line were created - as something more akin to an illustrated storybook.
