In this installation, thin glass rods are hung in an even two-foot square grid, placed in an otherwise empty room. This is an exploration in filling space.
Each glass rod is hand-pulled, seven feet long, and approximately one millemeter in diameter. There are 108 in the room.
Viewers are invited to interact freely with the space. The vertical grid changes their relationships with others in the room and the space as a whole, bringing a higher level of awareness to their movements.
Afterward, the glass rods may easily be shifted to one side, allowing for a direct comparison between the filled and emptied room.
