Train Station project, Zama Square, Rome

The aim was to design a new Train Station near Zama Square, Rome.
My purpose was to create a new Icon in the center of a vacant area, that could be used as a meeting and leisure point, as well as its function of train station.
The building had to be recognisable and become a bright lamp in the night.
That's why I designed this perforated skin that, with water and light games, could create amazing vibes during the night, while overshadowing during the day.
The building has 3 floors with all kind of activities: restaurants, shops, warehouses, relax, train tickets, offices and is characterized by 2 glass relax rooms with a triple heigth and a tree in the center, that could create an escape atmosphere in the middle of an urban quarter.
The project includes also a tower of offices and a system of public spaces equipped with benches, water, grass and trees.
The whole project is associated with a feasibility study of the investment and accurate urban, legislative, social, economic, energetic and environmental sustainability analysis, that include also an evaluation of the final costs and benefits and a detail of the facade solution.
