History of world costumes

Our aim in this project was to recreate an elaborate and detailed Georgian era costume.
Since we had to replicate a garment, we had to keep in mind that all the layers had to be in place.
First the women would put on a chemise which was made from good quality, hardwearing linen. Then came the panniers and the corset, the panniers that we used  were made out of laundry bags. After the laundry bags were in place came the bum rolls to high light the derriere of the women from that era. Then came the petticoat, to us a petticoat is an ndergarment, during the Georgian period the petticoat reffered to the actual skirt that went over the pannier and the bum roll. The last and the final layer would be the gown to finish the look. We kept the make-up nude because we wanted to highlight the garment, for the hair we used a wig to make a voluminious bun and a nice flower hairpin to finish the look.
