This project involved participation discussions to brainstorm a range of different topics on the subject of common connectors, joining systems, attachments and fasteners employed in an architectural manner. The focus was on employment of an aesthetically expressive design focused on connection systems and seams through elevations, plans and wall sections in order to create a pavilion project. For this project I studied the connection between materials as a base idea for my design. Steel, glass, wood and masonry are an essential part of the architecture design. However, bolts, mortar, screws and nails as different construction materials make permanent architecture possible. Fasteners do half of the work in architecture. The examples listed here are just a few of the many categories of architecture fasteners that are employed in the course of realization of an architectural work. In this study, we followed a course of inquiry into the nature, potential, and limitations of fasteners as a critical element of architectural design. The project focused on three phases: research, proposal and composition.
