Picto Connection was one of many live project sponsored by O2 on TalentHouse called 'Think Big"
Think Big aims to inspire, support and enable young people with great ideas, so they can have an impact on society while getting the hands on experience and skills they need to thrive in today’s digital world.
I decided to create an artwork for Picto Connection because I was simply touched byt the idea enabling people to communicate and lean using an application.
The idea behind the letter P was to capture a two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. They connect like the Picto Connection application connects people. People who can't speak often handwrite so I wanted to keep that essence there by sharpening the bottom end into a shape of a pencil. The straight horizontal lines representing a thin strings, ribbons. One in the middle connects two hands. The most common way how people connect to each other is by touching and holding their hands. This could be emphasised but changing the colour or the shape of that particular ribbon.
