Through History with Balenciaga

As one of the most important and influencial fashion brand in the world, Balenciaga never failed to surprise the world with its stunning design. From its founder Cristobal Balenciaga who is one of the most crucial influence for contemporary fashion, to Nicholas Ghesquiere and the new creative director, Alexander Wang; the designers inherit the legacy of the house and pour in new energy. To let more people know and understand the brand history, I create an website and booklet for promoting the brand's designers.
The website is structured by Indeisgn. To match the brand image, I took the simple layout from indutrial style website. The website is designed under the grid system .
The overview page with a video of Balenciaga.
Each designer has its own page; Cristobal Balenciaga is under the botton of couturier, Nicholas Ghesquiere is under the botton of breaker, and Alexander Wang under the botton of future. The botton will change into designer's name when the mouse move to it. After the mouse click on the botton, two side botton "about" and "collection" will appear.
The about page is the synopsis of the designer, and the collectino page will appear three most iconic colleciton of the designer, by clicking on the photo, the website will jump to the page about that collection.
Balenciaga debuted their beijing limited edition in 2014. As China is a new market which the cutomers are not familiar to the brand's history, I made this booklet as a simulation brochure to send out in the fashion show. The booklet only had very limited words to let the reader get the brief understanding of each designer very quick, including their iconic style, silhouette...etc. Also, I made this booklet bilingual and try to reach balance and harmony between Chinese and English.
