My family has always been the most important thing to me. And my family, like other families, has some quirks. There were times growing up, with the cast of characters that is my family, I felt like I was living in a sitcom. In fact, there are days I still feel like it, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. 

 

A few years ago, I was brainstorming ideas for Christmas gifts. Then it hit me, I could use my creative talents, to design a family calendar that emphasized our individual quirks, in a humorous way. Since then each year, I have created a new theme for the calendar, usually spoofing off what is trending at that moment. 

 

For example, in 2011, it was a“Retro Snarky” calendar. In 2012, the calendar was “Keep Calm and Carry On”. In 2013, I transformed my family into the “Someecards” calendar. In 2014, “Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That” meme was going around, and that became the inspiration.

In 2011, I went through old family photos to create a “Retro Snarky” calendar. 

In 2012, the “Keep Calm and Carry On” theme was popular. Thus I took the phrase “Keep Calm” and twisted the ending phrase to match everyone’s unique personality. I also replaced the crown at the top with that individual’s posterized face.

In 2013, the “Someecards” theme was everywhere. That became the theme I used. I posterized family faces to fit in over the drawings that were found in the cards.

In 2014 - “Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That.” was the theme. As life got busier, that phrase came up more and more again in conversation. Soon that meme became the inspiration for this calendar.
