Each week, I tackle a different mechanism for my course in kinetic sculpture. My personal goal is to create an amusing device every time. The scissor mechanism and gear train shown here have been my favorites.

Cutting bevel gears was the main challenge of this gear train. Also, the bend in the front panel prevents smooth gear rotation. The golden goat and white triangles are for visual interest.
