Marimekko Design (60s)
Marimekko is a fashion house in 50s characterized by a very simple design, use almost unique for the textiles industry.
For my project I decided to combine the features of two designers very much in vogue in the '60s: the floral theme of Maija Isola and the sharp vertical lines of Vuokko Nurmesniemi.
The pattern presents floral element that still characterizes the brand, repeated in two color variations of the same color. Each column is separated by vertical lines with the same color varieties of flowers.
The project can be made with any combination of colors with colored background.
I have chosen as the theme song "here comes the sun" by the Beatles for the great harmony that existed between this band and the fashion of the 60s.
