• Cochin is a Transitional serif typeface. It was originally created in 1912 by Georges Peignot for the Paris foundry Deberny & Peignot and drew its inspiration from the copperplate engravings of French artist Nicolas Cochin. The type specimen book I created depicts every weight available and a variety of sizes from small text to display size. Cochin is often regarded as a bit of an ornamental or decorative typeface. My choices in the layout mimic the style of Cochin while presenting it in a modern way.
