Ilustration in honor of Steve Heimel, longstanding reporter at Alaska Public Media (and Alaska Public Radio Network, among other places, before that organization existed) in honor of his impending departure from this organization. He's known for his unwavering enthusiasm, all-weather biking, and excellent storytelling. 

 

Steve Heimel was an investigator during the formaldehyde spill that affected my family and many others in Moose Pass, digging deep to hold the right people responsible. He probably doesn’t know what a hero he is, but reporters like him truly make the world a more honest place. I’m lucky to have worked with him.
