These items are up-cycled items.
From the past, when master craftsmen made Jagae Jangrong (Korean traditional cabinet, cabinets inlaid with mother-of-pearl), they exerted all their effort and embroidery on each one. However, many of them are out of the spotlight because they are old-fashioned, and that is a sad reality.
I carefully selected those old-fashioned Jagae which were made by Ggeun Eum-Jil. I screened items that used techniques that blend in with my work and then did up-cycling. In a portion of the work, I inlaid some mother-of-pearls with a pointer and flattened it out with resin, and finally finishing off with natural oils and shellac for these arts.
