COMBUSTION
a Two Man Show by
Wilson Mc Lau and Nur Khalisah Ahmad

These were pieces made for an exhibition in December of 2014.
The totem like images made out of recognisable plant like or insect like forms were partly inspired by the natural environment at Tasek Merimbun, an ASEAN Heritage Park in Brunei.

GAHRU I & II

Inspired by unique root formations from the Gahru tree. The roots would grow up and out of the ground in eerie almost swampy ground and surroundings. Some think these pieces bring to mind the smoke that comes from burning this wood which is sometimes used as incense, to me they capture the mystery of the jungle and the forces that cause the roots to take weird and wonderful shape.
