Asian Paints Color Next

As part of the design firm Wari Watai I was involved in the creation of the narrative exhibits for the event by Asian Paints called Color Next which is a color forecast that they undertake every year. As part of the event Asian Paints creates 3 narratives via which they communicate the color forecast and it is our job to bring these narratives to life in a three dimensional space. I particularly, was involved in some of the initial ideation and most of the execution of one of the three exhibits which was named My city My home which communicated how residents of a city have now started taking initiative to take care of their cities in one way or another. The process included sketching, use of software and hands on work to finish up the final models and exhibits.

The above images show some of the initial ideation done for the exhibits.

The main exhibit that I was a part of, My City My Home, was made with the use of corrugated sheets that were stacked prallel to each other.
The first step was to give order to the city that we were about to create. It was done with the help of a pre determined layout over which models of buildings made from thermacol sheets were placed.
Once we had a desirable layout and a good idea of how the buildings should be interms of volume construction of the acutal buildings started.
The outermost sheets had windows and facades that were handcut to give it an interesting look over which graphic images were pasted to illustrate the feel of a modern indian metro.
A comparision of the concept model and the actual model coming together.
The city and the other components of the exhibition put up at the location in the city of Dehli. The exhibition was executed and was well recieved by the clients.
Thankyou.
