Flower Impressionism is the name of this ring collection. It is to combine jewellery with painting to create art jewellery. Expressing my love for nature through colours of nature and sensuous sculptural form.
It is inspired by the shape and form of flowers; the works of impressionism and abstract painters like Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, Chu Teh-Chun, and Zao Wou-Ki.
I want the wearer to feel like he/she is holding a flower on his/her hand. Feeling the emotion emitted from the piece and imagining it coming to life.
The rings are made with silver and then patinated to create the desired colours.
The patinate colouring on the rings would slowly darken and fade overtime as it is exposed to the environment.
Flower Impressionism is to capture the momentary and transient, express emotion. Life of a flower is transient, just as ours. Nothing can escape from time, nothing is forever, so enjoy nature’s beauty, cherish and live every moment.
