Traditional Chinese medicine

Reach your optimal health and maintain it

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an ancient medical system that takes a deep understanding of the laws and patterns of nature and applies them to the human body. Considering all aspects of the body, including the mind, emotions, and spirit, to customize treatment plans for each individual and treat the root cause of illness rather then symptomatically. When symptoms or disease arise, this is a sign that there is an imbalance or blockage within the body. TCM effectively releases these imbalances, helping to harmonize and maintain the free flow of Qi (energy). Acupuncture causes the release of endorphins, the 'feel good' hormones, while encourage the body's own natural healing process, cultivating a more balanced and calm physical, mental and emotional state of being.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient treatment method that has been practiced for more then 2000 years. There are over 360 specific Acupuncture points on the body. Based on your body and its own pattern, a combination of points will be chosen for each treatment. A fine needle is inserted into the body and manipulated to create a therapeutic effect. Acupuncture is very gentle needling technique and often is compared to a mosquito bite, a small pinch, or not felt much at all.

Moxabustion (Moxa)
Moxabution is often used in combination with Acupuncture to balance the body. It is the use of the herb Mugwart in therapeutic ways to nourish and strengthen the body for many different conditions. There are multiple methods as to which you may receive Moxa, in its loose form, as a liquid activated by a heat lamp, or in its compressed smokeless form, all to which are incredibly affective for whichever use they are being used for. Moxa is a superb herb and has shown to be effective to help many conditions such as improve circulation, treat breech babies, increase the uterine lining, nourish follicular quality, and alleviate pain, to name a few.

Herbals
Chinese herbals are a natural and powerful treatment method. Herbal formulas are selected based entirely on the individual. These formulas are modified further to increase the therapeutic effect while decreasing the possibilities for side effects. Herbal formulas can be given by themselves, or often in conjunction with Acupuncture treatments. Formulas are given as a powder, this is so they can be so individually tailored, and are taken as a tea.

Cupping
Cupping is an ancient practice that involves placing rounded glass or silicon cups on the body and creating suction. The cupping technique helps to separate the tissues, increasing the blood flow and allowing the body to heal more effectively. When the muscles and joints get tight, blood flow is not effectively getting into the tissues, without blood flow, healing is prolonged or will not happen. Cups allow blood, which carries all the healing qualities inside of it, into the area and muscles to relax.

Auricular Acupuncture
TCM views the ear as a map to the whole body. Using specific points on the ear corresponds to healing areas all over the body. With Auricular therapy needles may be used during treatment or tiny vaccaria seeds will be taped to points on the ear, for you to stimulate in between treatments. This method is often effective and used with muscular pain, headaches, encouraging labour, addictions, and pre and post treatments with Assisted Reproduction Technology.
