Small application that uses simple geometric shapes, symmetry and superposition to create pareidolia, the impression of anthropomorphic faces, through random generation and user interaction.
 
Tools used: FlashDevelop, ActionScript, Flixel game-making library.
 
 
Instructions:
Toggle full screen: F
Create square : Q / Numpad 7
Create circle : W / Numpad 8
Randomly create 10 shapes: Y
Delete all shapes : X / Numpad 1
Switch color palette : K / Numpad 2
Screen capture (save as png) : M
Toggle cursor display : C
(Un)Select shape: click
When a shape is selected:
Size + : Page Up / Numpad -
Size - : Page down / Numpad 9
Opaque + : P / Numpad +
Opaque - : O / Numpad 6
Toggle color : L / Numpad 5
Delete shape : E / Numpad 4
The application is accompanied by a touchpad + buttons setup as illustrated in this diagram.
