Deciding which Australian politician to use as my subject was proving a futile task so instead I chose Annabel Crabb, a journalist that interviews politicians in a cooking/ kitchen setting via her TV show, Kitchen Cabinet. In her show her interviews techniques are seemingly casual. However her casual manner masks a series of penetrating questions that reveal so much. To me it appears she slowly and gently bakes their egos.
I painted Annabel in a cute 50’s style dress. Without the background it looks innocent. With the background, it looks like bloodshed.
