The Boardwalk hotel

The Boardwalk
Appointed head Interior designer for an internalrenovation of a 12 story serviced apartmentbuilding owned by hotel group Frasers. The renovation incorporated a complete internal stripout which required a reconfiguration of the existing internal layout consisting of 22 Three-bed and two-bed apartments into 51apartments (one-beds and studios). My role consisted of liaising with the clients, the project manager and contractors, presenting them with concept boards, floor plans, finishes schedule, creating and issuing technical drawings of new partition layouts, full bathroom fit out drawings, lighting + electric plans, kitchen and wardrobe drawings as well as specifying finishes as well as designing and producing documents for bespoke furniture items. The concept for the scheme encompassed the idea of creating a comfortable home like environment as most of the clientèle staying at this hotel are long stay corporate working in the area for a period between 1 week to 3 months. As most clientèle come from different backgrounds, the design was drawn to a simple contemporary approach, affiliated with a global aesthetic whilst trying to create a serene neutral environment by using warm earthy colours and creating visual interest by incorporating tactile textures with injections of coloured cushions incorporated by the client as a brand requirement.
