Objective
Utilize Photoshop skills to create a visually dynamic and engaging one-sheet design that showcases a fictitious creature that is built off several animals. Utilize blending, clipping masks and other Photoshop techniques to create a seamless design.
Execution
High quality royalty free stock images were used to allow for the greatest flexibility when creating the creature. The decision was made early on to focus on a close-up shot of the creature revealing only part of its face in order to draw the viewer in and allows the viewer to imagine the rest of the creatures build. Blending and clipping masks as well as contrast and hue and saturation shift were utilized to create a seamless visual integration between the creatures.
Result
A dynamic and intriguing creature design that strongly utilizes the viewer’s creative ability to envision the remaining build of the creature that is left off the page. The design is further strengthened by the deliberate use of the background and the reflection aligned with the creature’s neck to draw the viewer into the text.
