Our house in London is a constant hive of activity very rarely is it ever empty and there is almost always someone staying with us. This week it's my grandfather or "Baba" I renamed him some 28 years ago - grandfather was too much like hard work in the mouth of a tiny person learning to talk - Baba is possibly the most amazing man I have ever had the good fortune of meeting. His stories are epic and they enthral me to this day.

He says he is going "around the bend" but if I make it to 94 and can still speak Arabic, Spanish, German, French, Urdu and English in one sentence, casually slipping from one to another as and when it pleases me. Or, if like him depending on the company he is in he might drop permanently into entirely another language and sustain it for several hours. I will be very happy to be apart of the "around the bend" club.
