The final project is to design and 3D print anything we want using the modeling and printing skills that we've learnt in class. 

 

Inspired by John Edmark's Bloom (http://web.stanford.edu/~edmark/FLV/video.htm) a 3D printed structure that creates illusion while spinning, I have decided to make a top so that i can take advantage of the toy's spinning motion.

Then, I have decided to put a simple rolling illusion of 2 rings on my top so the rolling illusion can be created by the spinning motion of the toy.

 

I have also designed a ring to replace the handle that comes with the top. There are 2 holes on the ring, one on top and one at the bottom so that the top can go through. There are 2 notches on the side for the person to hold the ring.
