Ischiban (2010)
Logo
A logo for Ischiban, which started off as a stroke diagnostic end system and grew to be a biosensor platform for a variety of applications. The product line features a variety of headbands equipped with various types of sensors.

The brand reflects cleanliness and accuracy, which are qualities commonly associated with medical devices. I intentionally avoided using a serif typeface. Few medical companies use them effectively.

I also avoided the implementation of a whispy, hand-drawn look. When that look is applied to medically-oriented branding, I feel that this makes the design seem “cheap” and that the brand may involve itself in a bit of woo (homeopathy, “natural” healing, etc). It appears less “technological” or innovative than a crisp, clean approach. The logo also subtly depicts the Ischiban head band.
