The Chinese Dragon

The goal of this project was to combine the traditional Chinese calligraphy of dragon with a visual graphic which should allow foreigners with a clear, straight-forward comprehension upon the character itself, meanwhile revealing the beauty & powerof Chinese calligraphy.
Made simply with pre-cutted black carton, the calligraphy was assembled piece by piece.The skin of a dragon has a similar texture to snake skins therefore special attention was paied in order to achieve a similar tactile feeling on toucb.
Finished with the tail of the dragon & was designed in a way that's very similar to a hand-written character with a Chinese brush, which conveys the explosive power of a soaring Chinese dragon.
