For this assignment the goal was to a food recipe that relates to Herb Lubalin. In order to select a recipe that achieved this, I looked into the 1970’s culture and what kind of dishes they served at parties. The name of the recipe is in ITC Avant Garde Gothic Std Bold, the ingridients are in ITC Avant Garde Gothic Std Medium, the instructions are in ITC Serif Gothic Std Regular and the side notes are in ITC Avant Garde Gothic Std Book Oblique. A food dish recipe was incorporated to this assignment. A current weather report of where Herb Lubalin lived was also included. Part of this assignment was also inspired by a design in our text book “Type Addicted” produced and edited by viction:ary. The design I chose is called ‘Univers’ designed by Neubau. My inspiration came from the background design and the textured pattern on the typeface because I liked the contrast it created.

 

For this assignment a written outline on Herb Lubalin had been created previously. To incorporate the outline every fifth word of the outline needed to be incorporated. Then a random artist from the textbook, “Type Addicted” published and edited by viction:ary was selected to use for inspiration. The designer I got was Noa Bembibre who designed a promotional calendar for a design company, called “Cats Let Nothing Darken Their Roar 2006”

In this design I was to create three products for a made up company that I named Estylo. The three products I chose to make where lotions that combined a scent with a feeling from certain key words. The goal was that these feelings would emit from words that did not say the feeling but just whatever thoughts came to mind first.

The store that I designed shopping bags for is a store named Unleashed.  My target market is all of those people who love their dogs and love to dress them up and just spoiled their dogs.  For my research I went to a pet store where they sell items like mine and just observed people shopping for their dogs to see how they treated them.   The size of my horizontal bag is 20x12x8 and the size of my vertical bag is 10x12x6.  The font I choose for my design was textile because I wanted something that looked normal and not so fancy but not plain.  The colors I chose to use were red, black, and white because I believe that those three colors combined look well together and bring attention to the eye.  For the shape of my bags I decided to do a long horizontal bag for all those big and bulky items and for the other bag I decided to do a taller bag for smaller items like clothes and chew toys. I chose to use a bone and a Scottish dog because when I think of dog for some reason I always picture a Scottish dog and the bone of course because that is what they like to chew on the most.

This is a lunchbox product created for a made up storybook concept for children.
