I have been working my way through the vlogs of an incredible artist by the name of Jeff Lafferty lately and realised it has been way to long since I went pure traditional.

 

So out come the pens and pencils and on to glory!

 

Starting with a bunch of sketches, I settled on this one and went and found reference.

I am working on stone grey card stock with a black prismacolor pencil before inking with a brush.

I tape it to my board and got the airbrush out, working from the back with acrylic paint and a toothbrush for the flecks of white.

Next I worked over it with pencil and paint with a brush to render.

I used photoshop to crop and put it on a background just to see if this improved it or not, I can't honestly decide, so let me know which you think is better, with or without!
